Legal Permanent Residency (LPR) Information Session
This session is a prerequisite to apply for employment-based permanent residency with the University of Pittsburgh. Presenters will cover the main criteria for qualifying under EB-1B and EB-2 categories and how to document your qualifications. Topics covered will be:
- University and regulatory requirements for permanent residency sponsorship
- Processes and Timelines for EB1B and EB2 categories
- Required Evidence for each category
- Next steps to pursue permanent residency at Pitt
- Minimal information will be provided on other employment-based green card options
This session is open to current University of Pittsburgh employees only.

Scholar Orientation
Attendance at orientation is required for all new J-1 scholars and interns. Scholars and interns will learn basic immigration regulations relevant to their status, and general information for adjustment to Pittsburgh and the surrounding community, and will also receive informational packets for future reference during their stay. Please bring passport, visa, I-94 and DS-2019 with you to the orientation.

Pitt has a website for people new to the University of Pittsburgh and its hometown—especially graduate and professional school students, postdocs and new members of the Pittsburgh campus faculty. But undergraduates students are more than welcome to use this resource as well.
